R: if it weren’t for the media giving Karl a platform, no one would his band or care about his “cause”. The Governor’s office definitely would like us to stop covering Karl’s “protests”.

They fact she was legally outmaneuvered by a small town barber is pretty embarrassing for her as a lawyer and governor.

Government hasn't learned - you don't mess with rural America unless you want to be hog tied by them.

If ol' Karl's in the news, he's fair game. I didn't tell him to go stand outside the Capitol - that was his choice to join with others seeking attention. This COVID-19 "situation" will last longer than Karl being in the news, so his story will end when it does, although we'd be just fine if the media would move on sooner rather than later about Manke.

I notice you've never passed up a chance to offer your opinion. You piss, whine and moan about the subjects you care to, so if you're tired of reading an opposing opinion about Karl, move on. No one's stopping you.

...and, all you have left is to requote yourself. You and Karl both. Have fun with that! |I |I |I

The state dropped the case today. He won.
He hasn't won all of it yet. The court hearing was postponed until September. His attorney wants a jury trial, it looks like. Another chance to have a press conference and hear from the patriot himself:

In the meantime, he's got books to sell and money to make:

The story's from a month ago, but highlights his non-haircutting business. Be sure to get your "America's Barber" t-shirt today.

Sometimes drunk drivers make it home too.

I think he took precautions, the same precautions barbers are taking today.

I took a while for governor to catch up to the OM.

From an MLive article on May 6: "The shop’s chairs, doorknobs and bathrooms are sanitized, he says. Manke wears a mask and sanitizes his hands between cuts. All Manke’s scissors, clippers, combs and razors are sanitized with a UV light, safety precautions Manke has been practicing for 60 years. Manke said the building housing his shop is big enough to adhere to seating people six feet apart."

If UV light as a sterilization device is the same as others. Karl's busy working in another era. Photos from his shop have shown customers sitting next to each other with no masks. Karl has been seen with his mask down frequently. Since he's ignored the orders before, I doubt he's on board now.

Karl's back to his victim status. His attorney is hoping his name gets mentioned a few times. They don't dispute the reasons for the fines, but fall back on the "Patriot under fire" reasoning.

He's not appearing so virtuous if the Michigan Board of Barber Examiners became involved. He, and especially his attorney, will still claim it's politically motivated.
