It’s a push to be more “conversational”, less formal.
It’s a function of having stations being run by persons who only care about sales... instead of people who understand news and the need to be politically impartial. It is also a result of consultants and corporate managers who take a one size fits all approach.
It’s wrong. And it likely won’t change anytime soon.
