Greta Van Fleet wins Grammy

Post by matt1 » Mon Feb 11, 2019 12:48 am

Hard to believe that Greta Van Fleet won for "Best Rock Album" for "From The Fires" over Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Alice In Chains & Swedish group Ghost!! They lost for "Best Rock Song", "Highway Tune" to the late Chris Cornell (lead singer of Soundgarden). One of the 4 awards ain't too bad!! I bet they will be back next year for a nomination for "Anthem Of The Peaceful Army" for Best Rock Album!!

They gave up a solid Accordion and Clarinet Ensemble and a sure permanent gig at the Bavarian Inn for THIS?

Oh well, I guess if the Rock gig doesn't last, they could go back. They probably aren't holding the position open for them, though.

Maybe Weird Al will make a parody of one of their songs on Accordion and Clarinet. That would be funny.

Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Same (x, y, z), different (t)

Apparently one of the band members must work over at MLaugh, they get more attention there than your average murder now.....

Seger was only good until after the “Back In’72” Album then he became commercialized and started to suck, Just my opinion. Because I’m a grouchy Old Man 👴

1966 Bob Seger Tear Jerker. East Side Story on Hideout Records. First played and charted on WTAC Big 600. Three months before WKNR Keener 13. The WKNR chart appearing before WTAC on ARSA is a YEAR END CHART, not a weekly chart. It would normally be dated for 66-12-31, not 66-00-00 to avoid confusion with weekly charts.

That was good Seger but after “Back In ‘72” he somehow lost it. The Great tunes he did were of course as follows,
“Get Out Of Denver”
“If I Were A Carpenter”
“East Side Story”
“Persecution Smith”
“Heavy Music”
“Rosealie”

Persecution Smith-Bob Seger

This time WPAG, WTAC, and CKLW all added this within a week of each other. WKNR waited another week to add it. WTRX waited another week or so.

WTAC was on songs generally a month or better before anyone else. They were an awesome station. I wish it still existed as a classic hits station.

Heavy Music-Bob Seger

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNxFcJyz9Jg

This time, WTRX was the first to play Heavy Music. A few days later, WPAG added it. WKNR waited three weeks, CKLW four weeks to add.

So where was WTAC??? The Surveys were in those GO Magazines that almost no one saved, let alone cut out the WTAC Top 40. I don't like the term "hoarder", but are there any "archivers" out there that still have these and have, as Madonna Ciccone might say, "lived to tell"? When she lived in Rochester, she lived about a mile from where Bob Seger lived for a while, as did Chuck and Joni Mitchell's parents and in laws. As they say, who knew?

Anyone know a quick common connection between Rochester and Frankenmuth? I'll let you work on that for a while.

Sherwood Forest, They’re big on Christmas decorations. I think they’re on Adams Road in Rochester Hills.
But that’s probably not what your getting at so, What The Hell is it?
