Notice to all Buzzboard readers & posters: A requested server migration took place Saturday evening. Unfortunately, I did not re-point my DNS records to the new server until roughly 7:45p ET on Monday, November 12. As a result, any posts and new user registrations occurring between the nighttime hours of 11/10 and approximately 7:45p ET on Monday, 11/12 have been lost.

This was unavoidable, and the longer I waited to re-point to the new server, the greater the number of posts that would've been lost.

Please feel free to resubmit any threads / posts you created. They will NOT be lost this time! Many thanks for your patience these past couple of weeks while I've worked to migrate the Buzzboard to a more secure, more robust platform.

WNEM MY5 News At 10

Starting on April 27th, the news you normally see with David and Meg on WSMH will move to their sub-channel MY5.

What a great opportunity for Sinclair/NBC25. If they can put anything close to credible on at 10pm (not a given I know), they'll own the entire "go to bed early" crowd who watch Fox66, which actually could give them some momentum at 11pm and help them rise above the hashmarks in the ratings.

How long does the 10 last on MY5? I like David and Meg, but I'm not going to search them out. Doubt anyone will.

Exactly - I'll continue to watch what news is on on Fox 66 at ten for one reason - I have Directv and they don't carry My5. Only sub channel that I wish they carried is Retro TV on 12.3

How about Bill Harris on WSMH?

Harris is a tenured anchor, knows the market, well liked, etc. But he would not be my choice.

I think Fox programming skews young, and 66 should go after a younger audience.

Bill won't work a full shift. It'll be someone else.

This is encouraging news:
WEYI News Director Mike Schram said his staff is ready for competition with WNEM, adding that the new show represents a "significant investment in the station's news team."

With the addition of a 10 p.m. show, the station is adding 18 new positions ranging from anchors, reporters, photographers, producers and technical and operations personnel. New technology is also to be installed that's to bring a higher-quality broadcast picture, Schram said.
FINALLY...a major and sorely needed investment is going to be made in WEYI's news product!!! :)

Hopefully instead of looking like a bargain basement, mickey mouse operation -- these guys (on both 25 & 66) will start to deliver a higher quality newscast that can hold its own against WJRT and WNEM.

Thanks, corporate radio, for finally tossing Nickelback to the curb. Now can you please do the same for Shinedown? THEY SUCK!!!

Time will tell if they have a larger news staff to fill the 10 & 11 PM shows with separate news, or will the 11 PM just be a later version of the 10 PM newscast. They are really hiring a lot of people, and have stolen a few quality people from the other stations for behind the scenes work. This has potential.

With Sinclair owning 4 stations in Michigan (all with newscasts), I would love to see a dedicated political reporter in Lansing.

He doesn't have to. The guy probably has enough cash banked up to retire, but he obviously loves what he does and wants to continue. When you're in that position, you can basically write your own ticket.

That being said, the Fox audience is a younger demo, so they'll probably plug in an anchor to match.

It's okay to be bored once in a while.

His female co-anchor at 6PM would be a good choice.
