Byron Allen wants to buy ABC O&Os
Byron Allen wants to buy ABC O&Os
Byron Allen was to spend $10-billion (with a b) to buy ABC’s owned and operated stations.

If he has that kind of money, why doesn’t Byron spend a fraction of it to improve his current stations, like WJRT… or improve the quality of his syndicated programming… or buy some funny jokes?
This guy is a clown and the ABC O&Os should worry if he becomes their owner. Allen owns no #1 stations in his portfolio… now he’ll ruin some of the best run stations in some of the nation’s top markets if this deal goes through.

Hopefully, Nexstar will buy ABC. Byron has no interest in quality. Just suck the money out.
ABC 12 has the most amateurish week end newscasts. Mostly National stories we will see on World News Tonight in about 15 minutes. High school announcements quality.

You could say the same for Sinclair....sinklair wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 11:40 pmByron Allen was to spend $10-billion (with a b) to buy ABC’s owned and operated stations.

Didn't know ABC was up for sale. I'm surprised Disney is selling it.whitebalance wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 9:33 amHopefully, Nexstar will buy ABC. Byron has no interest in quality. Just suck the money out.

Re: Byron Allen wants to buy ABC O&Os
Considering that Nexstar owns stations affiliated with each of the Big 4, plus The CW and other networks and indies, it would cause a cataclysmic change in television broadcasting, as it would mean loads of stations flipping to ABC, as well as stations being sold off to meet ownership limits, or even swapped to favor stations with strong ABC affiliations (Nexstar owns and/or operates two stations or more in some markets). It would make the 1994-1995 Fox swaps pale in comparison.

RRonline, Nexstar also owns the CW.
I am not afraid of what this entails.
Just hoping that would not wreck Perry's financials.

You're never too old to learn something stupid.
Re: Byron Allen wants to buy ABC O&Os
Byron Allen isn't good for the ABC O&O's he has a better shot at buying TEGNA than he does the ABC O&O's along with NATGO or FX surprised he doesn't want ESPN. I think Disney will just spinoff the ABC & ESPN than sell them just my opinion as Disney wants more than $10 Billion.

Allen wants to acquire the network although the second article indicates Nexstar is only interested in the O&O stations.rugratsonline wrote: ↑Mon Sep 18, 2023 9:40 pmConsidering that Nexstar owns stations affiliated with each of the Big 4, plus The CW and other networks and indies, it would cause a cataclysmic change in television broadcasting, as it would mean loads of stations flipping to ABC, as well as stations being sold off to meet ownership limits, or even swapped to favor stations with strong ABC affiliations (Nexstar owns and/or operates two stations or more in some markets). Nexstar has their hands full with CW. They bought it for a buck and assumed all the debt load. Gonna take 'em a while to turn that ship around.
Shortwave is the ORIGINAL satellite radio.
Re: Byron Allen wants to buy ABC O&Os
A new report out says Byron Allen is competing with Nexstar to purchase the ABC O&Os.

The move by the not-funny Byron Allen would mean WJRT would again be in the ABC group, like it was before Disney sold them off to SJL Lilly.

I'm sorry. But take a look at ANY station DeathStar owns and quality is NOT A WORD that belongs in the same sentence with any DeathStar reference. Perry Sook and his drones are to television what CUMELESS is to radio. They buy more and more stations, cut to the bone and really don't gifafook about viewers or quality. Byron Allen would be a better fit for any local station than the Sook lord and his DeathStar menace.
