This CNN technical director represents so many people in the media.
They get into the propaganda (MSM) industry to "make a difference." Whether they want to paint cops as saints, get Trump out of office, present black people as victims, give credibility to a special needs teenager on "climate change," silence those they disagree with, or generally want you to relinquish your rights and have politicians run your life.

Oh... teenager with special needs or just teenager would be more appropriate.
And you're right about the TD as well. He's talking a big game about editorial decisions, but at the end of the day he's a button-pusher.
Re: Why viewers no longer trust the media
Even though there's more information readily available today, I would say that the majority of young people are more ignorant now than any time in American his/herstory.
Kids read articles on social media and believe they are facts.
Back when OTA newscasts were the only things available, at least the information (propaganda) went through a series of checks before it was broadcasted. Today, it's all "Just go live on your iPhone and tell us what you think is happening."
