"Beep beep" intro to TV8 traffic updates...

It's starting to get annoying....
WOOD-TV meteorologist Scott Larson, who handles weather reports on News 8's 4 to 5pm news block, blurts out a little "beep beep" before he tags his weather reports with brief traffic updates.
I don't think the weather staff should have to also do traffic. Until several months ago, a separate studio reporter handled it. But let's have a smoother, more professional transition.... perhaps a traffic sounder as on radio traffic reports???

I would rather hear a “beep beep” on TV than hear it on my radio while driving in heavy traffic, aka WGRD Road Rage Traffic…

You're forgetting the people who put on the morning news while they're getting ready for work. Traffic reports on TV are handy to know what the commute will be like ahead of time.

Me thinks he may have been facetious.......although I did have my TV in my county truck back in the 80's. Just a lil battery one but I watched the noon news during lunch.

Morning traffic reports on TV make great sense.

Routine traffic reports in the afternoon are stupid, especially in a smaller metro such as Grand Rapids.

In Detroit, neither 2, 4 nor 7 offer regularly scheduled traffic reports during their afternoon newscasts. I cannot recall a time where any of those three stations offered such a segment in afternoons.

My guess is GR area TV stations devote time to traffic reports in the afternoon to avoid having to work harder to fill airtime.

I expect to hear “beep beep” from a grade schooler, not from a meteorologist in a top 50 market! This isn’t Pocatello, Idaho!
