Any historians out there to say when B-93 was not in the top spot in the regional ratings?

I thought WOOD-AM took B for one book waay back when, but it may have been in demos or dayparts.

Interesting to see a couple of other show-ups in this book, including WGVU FM and Michigan Radio's local signal.

WCSG and WOOD have defeated B93 in the past. I want to say CSG has defeated them within the past two years. That said, that 6.8 share is one of B93's more lackluster showings of the past decade.

Impressive gains at WFGR and WHTS. WLAV has recovered from its gigantic dip earlier this year. Cutting way back on 90s tracks and boosting spins for 70s titles appears to be working.

Blunder cannot even outrank tiny signaled WGVU-FM. That's funny.

I find it amazing, that a non-commercial Christian Music station can be #1 in any market. Is Grand Rapids the only market this is happening in?

Meanwhile, 1230 and 1340 are in a heated ratings battle with WGVU-AM, a station that has been off the air since January.

Z88.3 in Orlando, I believe, has been #1 in the ratings there. Not sure if that's still the case as they currently don't subscribe.

KSBJ Houston was #1
JOYFM St Louis was #1
theJOYFM in Tampa was #1
KSOS Las Vegas was #1

There are a lot of smart programmers in the format that know how to connect with this Lifestyle brand.

I looked at WCSG's website, which seems to make a general, family-friendly appeal to people (https://www.wcsg.org/). Compare that to WMUZ in Detroit, which is more focused on its religious mission (https://wmuz.com/).

I have offered different ideas for Cumulus to run on the 50,00 watt 107.3 FM instead of their crazy and insane idea of
continuing to copy B-93 with modern major label country hits. If Cumulus isn't interested in changing that station then
perhaps it's time that they sell 107.3 FM to somebody else. Blunder Country doesn't offer the Grand Rapids area anything
that would take one away from B-93 except fewer commercials in their commercial clusters and even that's not enough
to turn away from B-93. Atleast when Cumulus had modern country hits on 94.5 FM it was close enough on the dial so
that people could switch back and forth which atleast got Cumulus a 4% share on occasions. Grand Rapids hasn't had
a format change since the fall of 2020 and again the Cumulus people in Grand Rapids should either offer a flip of 107.3 FM
or should sell it to somebody (preferably from Michigan) who wants to offer something better than "Blunder Country".

The audience for these stations is passionate, supportive and MOST OF ALL eager to tell others about it. If they get diaries, they will write it down.

Honestly, the music isn't THAT bad, but this might be the worst line-up of jocks on a station EVER in GR.

Mornings - A cranky old lady with a spectrum co-host that's not even on their company's flagship station.
Mid-Days - Why is this lady yelling at me?
Afternoons - How many edibles are you on bro?
Nights - Best of the bunch but everyone else has left for something better.

Agreed.

Cannot help but wonder if the success of stations with "JOY" in their branding influenced the recent rebrand of 99.3. I suspect it did.

I noticed the former iHM guy from across the street Cumulus hired a few years ago to serve as local GM (and who presided over the country format's botched move from 94.5 to 107.3) is gone and has already been replaced.

When did that occur?

96.3 WDVD morning man, Blaine Fowler, is now evidently voicetracking afternoons for WTNR. Didn't Lori Bennett used to handle that air shift?

So, let's see:
- Mornings at 107.3. are handled by (out of market) former Top 40 radio jocks based in Atlanta
- Middays are handled by a current Top 40 radio jock (from sister station WHTS and is now the only local voice heard weekdays on WTNR)
- Afternoons are handled by current Top 40 radio jock based in Detroit (from sister station WDVD Detroit). OK, WDVD is technically Hot AC. Close enough. :blink

What happened to Kim St James? She was one of the best jocks in that building and was excellent during the Nash era. She actually knew the format and audience well.
