January 2022 Nielsen Audio #'s: gigantic book for Star 105.7; disastrous book for WLHT, WHTS, WTNR and WFGR

Notables:
- Christmas music listening patterns still seem to be in full effect; Star 105.7 produced its highest AQH share in many years
- LIkely due to the above, Mix 95.7 and 105.3 Hot FM produced terrible showings of a 2.4 share and 1.9 share, respectively. I believe each result represents all-time record lows for these respective brands (or at least ties the all time record low).
- Cumulus has 3 (!!!) 50 kW equivalent FM stations with a 2.1 share or less.
- The Star surge has harmed 98.7 WFGR and also Star's own sister station, Big 101.3. WFGR's 1.8 share, I believe, is its worst mark since flipping to Classic Hits (and I think one has to back to year #1 of its Oldies format to find a prior performance that poor).

Remarkably, even with Star 105.7's massive book, B93 and 91.3 WCSG seemingly didn't miss a beat.

104.5 WSNX also held its own - and defeated Snot FM by a 3:1 margin - and WGRD somehow managed its strongest AQH share in a number of months (5.7 share).

Gangsta hip-hop laden Magic 104.9 also saw a nice bounce, posting a 2.4 share. Perhaps Ken Evans has made some improvements to this station (they do have a new logo, I see).

If past years are any indication, Star's massive numbers will start to plummet quickly by early spring and stations such as WLHT should start to see some nice recovery.

Clearly 98.7 and 105.3, along with 107.3 are clearly doing something very wrong when an alternative station, a gangsta rap station and a low budget christian station from Zeeland gets better ratings than you.
In 105.3s id be curious to see how their morning numbers look, I wonder if "west Michigans first all-woman morning show" numbers look like or the jojo show on 98.7.

Music wise, 98.7 has a terrible playlist nowadays.

I don't mind 98.7's playlist at all, but 101.3 has clearly taken away a big chunk of their ratings.

I'd like to see 98.7 go all classic rock so GRD could ditch Pink Floyd, Rush, Poison and the like from its playlist. Probably won't ever happen, though.

I've said it before but bad things are bound to happen when you rotate the same 220 songs for eight years. FGR is finding that out.

I could've told you that 5 years ago, even the awesome 80s weekends they have is mostly butt rock and the same synth-wave we've heard hundreds of times , The worst part of FGR these days Is that terrible voice tracked evening show, the "late shift with Craig Allen", reminds me of the terrible shows they'd play on the short-lived fuel FM in Lansing

I see 98.7 plays far fewer 90s cuts than it once did. However, it hasn't boosted 70s spins that much, either.
