Let the great subchannel realignment begin
Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin
The new Katz Networks offerings that launched today nationwide are available in our market:
17-4 is now TrueReal, in widescreen SD.
43-6 is now DeFy, also in widescreen SD.
Cheers! ~~ Statmanmi

WTVS proves your point with DPTV and PBS Kids in HD and three subchannels.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 9:21 pmThe technology certainly exists today to pack two full HD signals (1080i even) onto the same RF channel with excellent picture quality, while still leaving room for additional 480i streams to boot.
I suspect WOOD-TV will upgrade to accommodate HD transmission for WXSP.
Though their .3, .4 and .5 subs are substandard even by 480i standards. Sometimes it looks like 120i.

Rewind TV will be on Wood TV .2 on Sep 1.

Appreciate knowing of this (Rewind's arrival) MasterB, but a quick check of the network's website shows me little of interest, so I may not give it a stop when they become an affilaite, their spelling.
They did get the word right in the drop-downs.

Per rabbitears.info, their ATSC 1.0 service is on the dual transmitters of WOTV (RF 7 and RF34).Jason Kragt wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 8:59 amCan anyone confirm if 15.3 is actually CourtTV Mystery? I can't get that signal. If so, why would it need to move to WWMT? It is already on WXMI (17.4) and WZPX (43.5). Having one diginet repeated on three high power transmitters so close together seems ridiculous.

I think you mean WOOD-TV.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin
Nexstar will be adding Sportsgrid to Wood TV .3, Charge to WOTV .3 on Sep 1, I wonder what WXSP .3 will be or if they will leave that blank.

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin
I rolled by 3.3 as Wednesday began to find “Fear Factor” on, with TBD. Channel as the provider. It appears Comet has been dumped.
I can watch “Wipeout,” which airs 7-10 on weeknights, but I would rather stumble into “The Last Man on Earth,” or “The Closet of Dr. Caligari,” as has happened in the past, thanks to Comet.

I'm seeing Comet as WXSP's .3.

I know some duality still exists, (a couple doses of Dabl on the dial), but I am not surprised that Comet found new life on another signal.

Hi Trophyhead and All,
Jason replied quicker than I did, as indeed a couple of weeks ago after COMET had been running on both 3.3 and 15.3 (and the other WXSP follow-alongs), 3.3 switched to give our market TBD. (Wikipedia notes that Sinclair’s backonym for the stylized “TBD.” stands for To Be Discovered.)
I have in mind to post in this thread all the changes that have occurred in the last 8 weeks per my observation, once 54.4 and 54.6 have their intended content. 54.6 has started identifying as “ShopLC” in their PSIP (guide) data, but still has the “Coming Soon” loop running like on 54.4.
Duality has really been cleaned up, as I believe I’m only noticing Dabl in our market twice, and apparently soon SHOPLC.
I haven’t had a chance yet to tune in 43.7 that my autologging TV tuner today noted from the PSIP to be Newsy—with an announced 10/1 launch. I also want to notice if 43.2 is kept in HD, as that upgrade happened 6-8 weeks ago, per my notice (maybe earlier).
Cheers! ~~ Statmanmi

Re: Let the great subchannel realignment begin
I see, in another thread that someone reports 13.6 has brought "THIS" back to the region, I also saw Newsy for the first time last evening, on 43.7.
There was also a show on 54.5 and whatever shopping channel is appropriate on 54.6. 54.4 still had the "Coming Soon" slate up.
Always glad to have options, though I won't be buying a Navage, ordering incontinence pads, calling toll free for last minute travel and lodging deals or finding out how, as a senior, I can save on my car insurance, just yet.
