From RadioInsight:
Vintage Radio Enterprises sells Oldies/Standards 980 WAKV Otsego MI and the CP for 98.9 W255DF Otsego to Eric Mills and Scott Pastoor’s Qunicy-Richard LLC. The deal will be split with the buyer paying $85,000 for the stations and $10,000 for the real estate assets. The buyers own WYGR LLC and its “94.9 Jethro-FM” 1530 WYGR Wyoming/Grand Rapids along with its two translators.
I'd guess Vintage Radio is toast and Jethro will be expanding into the Kalamazoo market.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through May 6 at 7:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Re: WAKV Sold
The crackly AM station will need some upgrades to have really useful coverage (at least daytime) in the Kalamazoo area. Bear in mind 94.1 from the Jackson area has a perfectly acceptable signal on many car radios in the Kalamazoo area.
More likely, the new owners will look to relocate the CP for the Otsego area translator to the Kalamazoo area or will seek to acquire an additional translator or translator CP to reach Kalamazoo on the FM dial.

Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: WAKV Sold
In the old days at least, it might have made sense to swap out 1530 to Otsego and 980 to Wyoming. They have 101 watts omni PSSA on 980 in Otsego. It would have a very high NIF from WONE though. WCUB has an NIF of 28 mV/m from WONE.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

It seems like one of their on air personalities passed away recently.

In nighttime, the skywave signal of WONE Dayton will cause havoc.

WAKV's expected flip to Jethro FM has taken place. Simulcasting 1530/94.9/99.5.
