Is it me or does Susan Shaw sound breathy when she is at home broadcasting? Makes me think ventilator

I heard that same thing last night. I thought it was just bad accoustics in the room.

It's bad acoustics combined with high audio compression on the microphone.

I don't know where this would fall, but my top 10 things I won't miss when the pandemic ends will include Zoom/Skype/home-reporting and interviews. Ugh. I am so over the poor quality of it.

Agree 100%. While zoom has been a life saver of sorts, and great temporarily, personally if I never see another one again, it'll be too soon.

Curious is Susan was wearing a lapel mic or using her computer's built in microphone.

Forget what reporter at Fox 17 it was that bad audio during his/her first few at home report days but then I noticed a major improvement and also saw a lapel mic. Want to say it was Candace Montacelli (sp?) but I might be wrong.

And WWMT after the weather forecast saying that most of the workers are working from home we get you don't need to remind us on every newscast. I wonder if that will be the new thing where the TV station groups make the homecasting a thing or a smaller studio to save a few dollars on the bottom line?
