WPRR's 102.5 translator

Post by ftballfan » Mon Oct 21, 2019 9:08 am

WPRR's translator on 102.5 has been airing a high-pitched nose instead of its regular programming for several weeks now! 95.3 is airing WPRR programs as normal. WPRR has very few listeners, but they somehow managed to get two translators, therefore blocking one of the frequencies that could have been used for an LPFM or a translator of another station

I've noticed that too. Apparently nobody at that operation ever listens to their own stations.

I think it's been this way since at least July.

Isn't Tyrone Bynum the station manager now?

If so, that explains a LOT!

Too bad, as the audio quality on 102.5 was better than 95.3.

Throw in that 1680 might not be operating at its licensed 10kW (in Manistee, 1660 from Kalamazoo is stronger than 1680 from closer Ada)

90.1 has been operating as normally as I have tuned it in, but I can recall that when they first came on the air last summer and were just airing dead air, a kind message to them just curious about the station went totally ignored (pretty common for radio). Thanks for giving a flying f*ck about your listeners. And I actually kinda enjoy some of the station's programs too.

Don't waste space on the dial if you can't keep your stations on the air, and if they DO go off (everyone has transmitter issues, lightning strikes, tower problems), at least make note of it somewhere or reply to your listeners' concerns, or else you're not worthy of having space on the dial, especially when you hog 3 FM frequencies.

It must've been off today because WIOG came in perfectly northeast of G.R
