Active-leaning rock would sound horrible alongside the station's incumbent material, so I'd have to give that proposition a big "NO" vote.
I think the demographic that station targets is simply using the FM radio ecosystem less & less as time passes by.
There may also be some Nielsen sampling quirks going on locally.

In my defense, I didn't mean to add it to the existing product; I was hypothesizing a complete format pivot.
But, yeah, I agree...maybe they're just polling different parts of the area (i.e. outside of downtown or the north-east end) that would be less receptive to this sort of station...or Spotify/Sirius XM is looking mighty good these days.
