Solar Eclipse April 8th

Post by lidoshuffle » Sun Apr 07, 2024 7:29 am

This is no natural phenomena, this is our gov't, in cahoots with, ummm.... other people, developing and testing out a super weapon capable of blocking out the sun, all in hopes that as you are distracted, millions of "undocumented persons" will be escorted into the USA by Trains, Boats and Planes, then immediatly given debit cards, free lodging in 5-star hotels, voter ID cards, free health care and a drivers license...don't be fooled!

It's true because Tik Tok said so...

That's actually one of the more sane conspiracy theories I have read about the eclipse.

Hard to know if you are joking or serious because you have typed some wild shit before.

Bing Crosby knew how to use a solar eclipse to manipulate the public.

Amazingly good weather across the vast majority of the path of totality in the USA.

Even northern Maine had mostly sunny skies and temps near 60.

Portions of south Texas and upstate New York had the highest percentage of cloud cover.

I wish I would've traveled to Northern Ohio to see totality.

It did get dark enough at my house for about five minutes to trigger some outdoor lights. A sliver of the upper right portion of the sun remained visible at peak here (3:13 PM). No halo effect here unfortunately, and it never got dark enough to truly look like nighttime here.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

The lights at the industrial complex south of Sarnia came on for a few minutes. There were also some lights on in Centennial Park, near the river. It looked like the streetlights along the main roads were off, however. It reminded me of what it looks like about 15 minutes before sunset. Chatham would have been darker. Rondeau Park, Point Pelee, and Pelee Island would have had total darkness for a couple of minutes.

Here in Florda, it wasn't much of a sight. When it was almost over, a lady gave me her glasses to look through. The sun looked like a cookie with a bite out of it.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

My view from just south of Lima, Ohio. Other than some very thin whispy clouds, it was basically clear.

It was a surreal experience. The light a few minutes before totality has a very eerie look - the only way I can describe it is like one of those car headlights that has a blueish hue but shining from the sky - it is a very different look than just dusk. Then totality itself - being able to look up at it without eye protection -it was a lot brighter than I was expecting, and the detail with which you could see the sun's surface was amazing.

The sky was basically dark, but you could see what looked like early morning light on the horizon but in all directions.

Totality where I watched lasted for nearly 4 minutes.

Ummm I think you were not supposed to look up without eye protection…. Anymore than a half second or so….Are your eyes OK?

I heard there were recalls on some of the el cheapo eclipse viewing solar eyeshades.

Here in SE Mich yes it was eerie the shadows that were cast.
