Anyone covering the debate tonight??

Post by km1125 » Thu Oct 13, 2022 2:38 pm

Just scrolled through the EPG info and don't see this scheduled on 2, 4, or 7 in the Detroit area.

Anyone supposed to be carrying it live? Just not important enough for TV?

Thanks. I just asked someone here. I didn't know there was going to be a debate tonight. Circle Seven is the Detroit station carrying it. Starts at 7. I need to pay more attention.

Did 7 just add it? All the info I've seen doesn't have a Detroit TV affiliate listed - just radio.

7 I think has the Oct. 25 debate.

Update, 4 is carrying it. But only via live stream. Wheel & Jeopardy are more important over-the-air. :rollin

AM 760 WJR
AM 950 WWJ
AM 910 WFDF
WJRT 12 (Flint)
WOOD TV (Grand Rapids)
WWTV 9&10 (North Michigan)
WJMN 3 (UP)

That's amazing to me that not one Detroit TV station is carrying it. Not even any sub-channels.

Amazing to me too. Maybe they feel like the race is over and the ad dollars they would lose are worth more? Dixon isn’t spending ANY money on ads after all.

WLNS in Lansing is also airing this debate.
If you're in the western side of the Detroit market you may be able to pull it.

They must have added it to the EPG after I posted the initial question. It wasn't there then but it is now.

It's completely disgusting that no TV outlets are carrying it in Metro Detroit.

Fuck all of 'em.

Kudos to the AM radio stations airing it live.

Loco 4+ just dumped out of the debate to show the live lottery drawing. What a joke.

I watched most of it, and my general opinion is that Whitmer seemed to be on the defensive most of the night. She also went out of her way to say repeatedly that she's bi-partisan and likes to work with the other side. Aside from the fact that that's a big crock of you know what given how she behaved during the pandemic, I found that to be an interesting tactic as I take it to mean that she has internal polling to suggest that she's struggling with independents. I still think Whitmer wins this, but perhaps this race is closer than she wants it to be.

Oh, and on the questions about supporting the cops. I felt Whitmer dodged those and instead tried to always pivot to guns.

My verdict? Dixon won the debate, but it probably won't matter.

I watched 15-20 minutes of it and shut it off after Dixon gave an unbelievable answer in regards to the Oxford School shooting. Dixon is a flipping dimwit
