Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
"If former Gov. Rick Snyder can be prosecuted for decisions that contributed to the Flint water crisis, then current Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is vulnerable to similar charges for her nursing home policies during the COVID-19 pandemic," Finley writes.

Re: Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
She absolutely should.
It's one thing to have an elected "leader" making decisions but those should also be checked/confirmed by others. Her autocratic regime making decisions that are not fully supported by the legislature means that all those decisions should be scrutinized, even perhaps at a criminal level. If she had support of the legislature, then I'd say she'd be off the hook.
As an executive leader, a governo should have the ability to act quickly, but be required to back it up with support from the legislature.

This tyrant deserves prison for what she has done. She brought a disease to old, disabled people. She should be behind cuffs.
Donald Trump was and is the best president this country has ever had. And he will return to glory as our leader again.

A very thorough investigation is absolutely warranted regarding COVID-19 related nursing home fatalities.
At minimum, the state of Michigan bears civil liability for what occurred.

Re: Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
NO WAY!! Just like the dam damn up north, the PEOPLE of Michigan didn't do ANYTHING to cause these things so THEY should not get penalized. It's way too easy to just send the bill "to the state" which ends up causing all of US to have to pay for it.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 2:55 pmAt minimum, the state of Michigan bears civil liability for what occurred.
Just another way for a subset of the populace to milk the rest of the populace, with a bunch of lawyers getting rich in the process.
Re: Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
What about the dam in Mid Michigan? We still don’t know the whole story on that one.
Re: Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
If you want to know now... it broke and a lot of water went everywhere.
If you want to know later... wait for the findings of an investigation.
Re: Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
Sure because all those families will surely benefit more financially and in terms of closure by locking up a couple of people then getting cold hard cash...km1125 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 4:01 pmNO WAY!! You might not like it, but that's how the law works for better or worse. Thank qualified immunity (not to mention various state laws) for that.NO WAY!! The State of Michigan carries extensive liability insurance for such things.

Nessell was a significant contributor to a series of rare events that led to the failure.

The dam had been having problems for years and the owners of it were negligent with responding to officials at the state and federal levels.

No she forced them not to lower the lake levels due to the "rights of freshwater mussels".
Classic government screwup.

They also had some shoddy Maintanance issues and federal and state compliance issues. It was a terribly run outfit.audiophile wrote: ↑Sun Jan 17, 2021 7:37 pmNo she forced them not to lower the lake levels due to the "rights of freshwater mussels".

Re: Whitmer Should Be Indicted?
Actually the state inspected it and said it was good condition based on their 100-year standards which is all that was required.
Nessel then forced them to NOT lower lake levels due the "rights of fresh water mussels" (which would have prevented the breach).
The dam was in the process of being sold to Midland and Gladwin Counties as it no longer being used for electricity. The century old dam did not meet newer 500-year flood federal standards for electricity and that why it was being sold to the locals. The owners knew that the levels needed to be lowered to prevent failure in case of "500-year" event. Nessel sued them to prevent them from doing that.

The three stooges (Whitmer, Nessel, Benson) need to purged.
