Not at all surprised Metro Times and Deadline Detroit had this story first. Hats off to both news organizations!

This pig in Shelby Twp needs to be fired immediately.

If you have never been in a position to discriminate against African Americans, and never been in a position to take anything from them, why should you feel guilty? Why shouldn't they be against rioting which is ruining small businesses nationwide? The small businesses will disappear, leaving wealth in fewer and fewer hands. Why may I ask is this a good thing? People have EVERY RIGHT TO DEFEND THEIR LIVES AND PROPERTY AND BUSINESSES against the people trying to destroy it. White or Black, Middle Class and "Working Class" people have a right to keep what they've worked hard for. Big Businesses and Executives who have cheated Middle Class and "Working Class" people, White or Black, out of their hard earned assets, should bear the brunt of all this, not the people of modest city or suburban neighborhoods. This includes BANKS paying 0.01% interest to depositors, while charging 20% credit card interest. Put the blame where blame is due. Not on all White People.

Sadly, there are more leaders in law enforcement like this guy than anyone wants to admit. It will be interesting when the new state laws kick in, I bet there will be some resistance.

An old radio buddy was the guy who called it out for the Metro Times. Connecting the dots was pretty easy for them.
Michigan Senate Approves Police Reform Bill

The state Senate took a significant step towards helping ease tensions between the community and police.

The chamber unanimously voted to pass a bill that would reform police training in Michigan to focus on anti-bias and de-escalation techniques, while also reforming mental health screenings for officers.

The bill’s author says this has been in the works for a few weeks now, but the current climate has sped up the timeline.

There were a total of 9 unarmed black people killed by police officers in 2019. Every one of them, while unarmed, either had access to a gun or was violently beating someone.

Out of the 36 million interactions police officers have with the public each year, do you really think bias training is a wise use of resources?

Wouldn't more riot training be more appropriate?

Personally, I am for disbanding the police as we know it.
Now the council members are listening to a city that is wounded, angry, fed up with decades of violence disproportionately visited upon black and brown residents. Various private and public bodies – from First Avenue to Minneapolis Public Schools – have essentially cut ties with the police department. Council members are trying to figure out what their next move is.

Their discussion is starting to sound a little more like what groups like Reclaim the Block and the Black Visions Collective have been saying for years. On Tuesday, Fletcher published a lengthy Twitter thread saying the police department was “irredeemably beyond reform,” and a “protection racket” that slows down responses as political payback.

“Several of us on the council are working on finding out what it would take to disband the Minneapolis Police Department and start fresh with a community-oriented, nonviolent public safety and outreach capacity,” he wrote.

That would make the stockholders of Smith And Wesson, Ruger, Remington, etc. etc. very, very happy.

Hell, Smith and Wesson is up 28% since the "protests" started.

But maybe not... going to an image where they aren’t gonna get you if you make a wrong move will allow stops to go smoother and other crimes to be investigated quicker. It could actually make things safer...

The dipshit basically admits the posts are his in asking for forgiveness.

This "investigation" should be the fastest one ever ... and result in termination. He can get forgiveness someday working in another career.

Reading his profile on the Shelby Twp web site, I see he spent 21 years of his career as a Southfield cop. Maybe that's where he learned this stuff.

He’s a coward for inventing a twitter handle to troll like that... that’s Bush league stuff and you’d hope a Chief would be beyond that...

We all understand how little regard to you for other people.

If you look at how Policing is done in most European countries, it's less about macho bullshit and more about serving the community.

The biggest issue I see with Police in the United States are union leaders. Do some reading, the unions are the first to defend an officer when they have brutalized a citizen and last to the table to discuss reforming the way business gets done.

Where do you think Derek Chauvin got his training?
Minneapolis police union offers free 'warrior' training, in defiance of mayor's ban
Police federation says the Minneapolis mayor's ban on training is illegal.
By Libor Jany Star Tribune APRIL 24, 2019 — 9:28PM

Minneapolis Police Union President Lt. Bob Kroll said that he consulted with the police union’s attorneys, who said Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey’s directive was unlawful.

In open defiance of Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, the union that represents the city’s roughly 900 rank-and-file police officers announced that it is partnering with a national police organization to offer free “warrior-style” training for any officer who wants it.

According to a news release posted to the Law Officer website, the free online training — valued at $55,000 a year — is offered to officers for as long as Frey remains mayor. The training, which covers a range of issues, from “officer survival” and leadership to fitness and de-escalation, was designed to ensure that officers could “return home each day to their family regardless of the dangers that they may face and the ignorance of some politicians,” the release said.
