California has canceled all large gatherings for 2020. No sports, no concerts, no festivals.

We need a vaccine and we need to understand the antibodies before we just throw ourselves back into large groups.

More people died in from the Spanish flu in the second wave than the first wave. people thought the pandemic was over and went living freely with their lives and it really took off killing millions.

I see what happened at the Smithfield plant in South Dakota an example of how trumps strategy would be playing out if you were able to do what he wants.

This isn't correct, TC. At least it is not official...yet. It appears to be headed that way, but the Dodgers, Rams, etc have yet to announce their home seasons are cancelled entirely.

How about Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties in Michigan? 21,000 infected, 1600 dead. Is this not an example of how Whitmer's strategy IS playing out?

Yes it is... but that’s with spread being further limited. Now imagine it was freely moving without any restrictions at all.

It has a lot to do with how the primary was handled. It has to do with a weak health department and ineffective messaging to vulnerable populations. Ohio stayed in place much earlier we probably didn't start soon enough.

I understand safety but yet sorta disappointed. Back when this virus was just starting to rear its ugly head, I decided not to buy Megadeth concert tickets at Soaring Eagle. I've wanted to see them since I was a teenager and Mt. Pleasant is the closest they have ever come to me. It's definitely a lost opportunity. I see that show has not been cancelled as of yet but some of the other acts have been cancelled and postponed.

I was the first one to mention the democratic primary on this board as a reason. Here you can read the post FROM MARCH 28TH: https://mibuzzboard.com/phpBB3/viewtopi ... ry#p601506

Republicans didn't go out to vote.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

I’m sure some of them did... but why would they go out for a democratic primary?

There was Republican primary, but Trump had it in the bag.

So again... why would lots of republicans come out to vote?

I can see things like Memorial weekend festivals and activities being canceled as it's well before Cherry Festival time.

The point is we should have stayed in place weeks earlier than we did, like Ohio.
