You have to wonder if the Detroit issue was due to primary voting in urbanized areas.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

I think that had a lot to do with it...certainly.

I also know a lot of folks in Detroit rely on transportation by bus. I doubt DDOT is following strict sanitation procedures. Those people then go to their place of employment, church, voting booths, wherever and spread those germs everywhere.

Governor Dewine's decision in Ohio to postpone that state's primary elections was very, very smart.

OUR President granted the major emergency declaration that our juvenile governor asked for 3-4 days after she should have: https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/ ... 932412001/

Looks like MAYBE she's had an attitude adjustment:
This morning we received 112,800 N95 masks in our shipment from the strategic national stockpile w/8k more on the way. Great news for our health care workers. We'll keep working hard along with FEMA and the White House to get more of the PPE we need to keep Michiganders safe.

Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

I completely agree that Whitmer should've requested the declaration sooner. Probably should've been made at the start of the work week - Tuesday at the very latest - given how things were trending.

Latest example of a bone headed move, a move that I suspect has political motives, by the Whitmere administration.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs literally threatened all doctors and pharmacists in the state who prescribe or dispense hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19.
For those not aware, this combination of drugs has showed great promise in reducing symptoms as well as limiting the spread of the virus. Henry Ford Hospital as well as U of M had started using them as a treatment protocol for hospitalized Covid-19 patients.
The agency’s March 24 letter warns physicians and pharmacists of professional consequences for the prescribing of hydroxychloroquine (and chloroquine). Beyond the rational recommendation against hoarding as production of this medication needs to be ramped up, the letter deviates into open threats of “administrative action” against the licenses of doctors that prescribe hydroxychloroquine.

The letter also instructs pharmacists to ignore physician orders for this medication.
One must wonder if the "Future Vice Presidential candidate" is taking this action because this treatment was touted by the President, several times, during press briefings as showing great promise.

Meanwhile in New York:
"We hope for optimistic results," Cuomo said during a press conference Tuesday, talking about the clinical trials. "The president and the FDA accelerated that drug coming to New York so the hospitals will start using that drug today."
Probably a month too late for that move, or at least several weeks. Heard a lot of doctors were issuing prescriptions to friends and family so they had some in hand before the shortages start to happen.

The other thing is that it appears that even a mild dose can help folks instead of a full prescription. Just having some in your system stunts the growth rate of the virus and allows your body to overcome it with its own immunity reaction. Just needs a little 'kick start' to help it along. Folks hoarding the drug might help one person but it might put 6-8 more at risk.
