Detroit Dog Daze of Radio - 103.9 Ici Music

Post by Tackleberry » Fri Aug 02, 2024 11:16 am

Anybody else completely let down by most of the radio on the air today in Metro Detroit?

There's certainly no hope left for classic rock and we thankfully have enough good R&B classics in Detroit that keep things steady.

But recently I've been hanging on strong to Windsor's 103.9 as of late.

I guess it might only come in strong on the Eastern side of the region but wow is it refreshing to hear new music, excellent French pop classics, and upbeat electronic dance from the world and mainly French portions of Quebec.

I get a WCSX Smile FM translator at my place, but I believe there is a stream available. Will be trying that.

Give a listen sometime to Zoomer Radio CFZM 740 AM Toronto. Oldies and classic rock; a better playlist than anything in Detroit. Comes in clear at night, kind of challenge during the day because AM.

I really loved 93.9 The River and 95.1/100.7 Lite FM

The River always had good new music and Lite FM had great old music I had never heard of
Music is my life.

CFCO was always my station of choice when they were Classic Gold.
I got to listen to Ici Musique a bit when I visited Grosse Ile last year. I think their music programs are superior to CBC Music on 89.9. Unfortunately I can't pick them up here, as 103.9 here is a battle between the Smile FM drone, WRSR and WLEN.

Their audio processing is much better than their 89.9 counterpart.

I think CBE-FM will have miserable sounding audio processing until the end of time.
DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.

Love 89.5 as well when I'm traveling in the Mid / Western portion of Metro Detroit. I think I've heard early Ministry and Yaz and lots of 80's goth wave cranking out. I think its Auburn Hills WAHS? Amazing the signal comes in just south of St. Clair Shores!
