Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
And all this time I thought the affiliation would be going to WDIV's 4.2 or 4.4 subchannels. This news will at least open the door for Me TV Toons to affiliate with 4.2 or 4.4 instead.
My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!
Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
Count me surprised!
Was not expecting this after CBS unceremoniously dumped them about a year ago.
Relations between CBS and Perry Sook have been frosty at times. Perhaps they've kissed and made up.
Some streaming services, including YTTV, carry both the national CW feed and WKBD. Here's hoping the national CW feed gets kicked to the curb!
CW weeknight programming will probably earn lower ratings for WKBD than Family Feud reruns.

DTE Energy paid $752 million in dividends to its shareholders last fiscal year. Remember that the next time they ask the MPSC to approve rate hikes.
Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
I would have given a reunion with WADL a better chance than WKBD!

Another Paramount property, WBFS-TV, Miami FL will also be affiliating with The CW.

Hopefully, the goofy "Detroit 50" moniker for WKBD will be tossed aside.

Agreed! They need to either go back to CW50 or just go old school and have the TV50 branding.
Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
I was surprised that The CW is returning to WKBD as I thought it was going to be on WDIV's subchannel or maybe WADL if Kevin and Nexstar made up.
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.
Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
I wonder if news will officially go back to 50.
Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
Looks like the new branding will be “Detroit 50 the CW.”

Barf x 1,000,000.
We can always count on the inept decision makers of the CBS local station group to completely screw up something so simple.

Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
Im not surprised, leave us not forget Nexstar switched CW from WCIU 26 back to WGN 9, logic stands to reason WKBD was logically the only reasonable choice , and as for WADL, no win, no loss and Kevin Adell keeps his "baby" [or sells it to Byron Allen]
Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
Detroit 50 The CW. You have got to be kidding me.
CW50 was 10 times better than that.

Re: And the Detroit CW Affiliation Goes To......
I think they should go back to CW50 not a fan of Detroit 50 The CW.
