WRCJ FM Dead Air this Morning

Got up late for work this morning because my radio alarm clock played silence at 6:00 AM - WRCJ 90.9 was not on the air. At 8:00 they were still off. Back on now; I wonder what happened. Have never considered that as a possible downside to a clock radio.

Got up late for work this morning because my radio alarm clock played silence at 6:00 AM - WRCJ 90.9 was not on the air. At 8:00 they were still off. Back on now; I wonder what happened. Have never considered that as a possible downside to a clock radio.

They were back on at about 8:30 a.m. when I turned them on in the car.

Tried to find something on Facebook and X about the dead air but had no luck.

On X, I did find this post from October 2022. This might be what happened.

90.9 WRCJ will be off the air for the next couple of hours for emergency tower maintenance.

Also, there was this X post from December 2022.

Our technicians will be working on Oak Park transmitter Uninterruptable Power Supply from 2am ET Dec. 13, requiring intermittent shut down of @909WRCJ
on-air signal.
Work should be completed by 6am.
This will complete Oak Park UPS upgrade.

This happens to WRSX Port Huron. They are part of the network known as Michigan Public. Even this morning they were out.
