Impressive results for WWJ. That's their best showing in ages 6+ in a very long time.

Also noteworthy:
-WXYT earned a combined 11.6 share when adding their streaming share to their FM share! The Lions' playoff run certainly fueled that result.
-WRIF's 6.0 share (they don't reach that pinnacle often)
-98.7's 3.2 share
-WJLB's 2.6 share (might be an all-time record low for them)
-WDMK's 2.3 share (certainly their worst showing since moving from 102.7 to 105.9 many years ago).
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

With football over I imagine 97.1 will fall back a fair amount.

For sure. Once the lazy radio of mock drafts takes hold (*cough* Karsch and Anderson *cough) those numbers will come down.

WJR Great voice of the Great Lakes…

#16

Do the hosts get paid much or has their contracts slid lower proportionally from their heyday?

In other words, how’s their revenue been compared to the heyday. I hear a lot of PSAs where I would expect income generating ads.

You mean the morning mess of Guy Gordon and co hasn’t brought them ratings?
I even heard Marie Osborne co-hosting with Dietz mid mornings instead of the stupid “news analyst” thing she does. Usually when one of them is off the other does it solo. Dietz must be that bad.

WFDF creeping up to a 0.5, yet still virtually no advertising.
NIC back to normal, not holding on to any of the Christmas audience.
105.1 is slipping- any thoughts as to why? Admittedly not a station I listen to.
Is sports betting talk really that interesting to draw a 0.3, or has there been more overflow sports broadcasting than normal? Usually they go to WWJ or even 98.7 these days.

Out of market NFL playoff games have aired on 1270. Pistons games wind up on 950, 98.7 or 104.3 when a conflict at 97.1 arises.

Several months back, I predicted a 0.6 share for WFDF by February. They appear to be on pace.

I agree with one of the earlier posts that "The Ticket" is number one with the help of The Detroit Lions in the NFL playoffs.
WNIC really went down by 9.3% with their post holiday ratings now that they're back to their boring A/C format. I noticed
that WKQI, WYCD, WRIF, WOMC, and WWJ all had increased their shares. WCSX remains in fourth place and still with a
6.6% share. Lately I've seen posts criticizing WCSX for playing many overplayed classic rock songs but the fact of the
matter is that WCSX playlist works for them and many in the Detroit area still love it. The playlist for their competition
WLLZ doesn't work for them and that's why WCSX always wins the classic rock competition. WLLZ went up by a .3 share
to a 2.7% share which still is a low number. I still think that if WLLZ continues TV commercials saying that they play such
classic heavy metal artists as AC/DC and Ozzy they'd be better off just sticking to classic hard rock and heavy metal.
I still say WLLZ should drop such classic pop rock as Journey, Bryan Adams, and Fleetwood Mac.

Dropping knowledge on forum MAGAts.
Unapologetically intellectually superior.

I just found the post where I made that prognostication. :)
As the power reduction and fading will be limited to fewer hours, the solid Day signal will soon extend to the entire Morning and Evening Drive, into the Eastern areas of the market. Daylight Savings Time will make Sunset at 8:15 PM by April. 50 kW Night would help some, but even WWJ has fading.

After WTCM reduces from 50 kW to 1.1 kW Night, WFDF is the go to station for more Conservative Talk in Northern Michigan. It just booms in, often better than WWJ, and much stronger than WJR.
"I had a job for a while as an announcer at WWV but I finally quit, because I couldn't stand the hours."

When Guy Gordon's show started a few years ago, it was really good with a lot of local flavor. Now that they have shifted to the national stories, not so much. Renwick is good from 2 to 4. What I wish they'd do is flip flop them again (Guy from 2-4), and have Renwick team up with Mike Parsons and Renee Vitale in the morning. I've been podcasting the Mike and Renee show(5:00-6:00AM), and it's decent.

Better yet, dump Gordon completely from the station, or bring back an actual news department and make him an anchor. He’s not a good talk show host.
I wouldn’t mind Paul W. leaving too but that won’t happen until he decides to.
