I'm doxxing myself but it is what it is.

In 1981, my father was arrested for a crime he did not commit. In 1983, he was actually convicted for said crime and nearly spent a decade at a minimum behind bars. After the whole story came out (thanks to a woman who randomly opened a newspaper, saw the story, and went to the police as she has information on who the real criminals were), my father was exonerated.

Here are some media clippings from March, 1983. The final part is my father's interview by the late David Newman on WXYZ. The tape is only 30 minutes, but you get a good chunk of his interview with Newman.

I apologize for the sound quality, but my studio room is all torn up so I just ran it through my phone.

Thanks for sharing this. Glad to hear that your father was eventually exonerated before beginning to serve a life sentence. And it's always great to hear David Newman.

I listened to the entire recording. Thanks for sharing. What a terrifying prospect to be wrongfully convicted. The lady who called to say her son was going through the same thing sent a shiver down my spine.

I believe I have earned the right to be weary of law enforcement and the justice system. When they want their collar and their conviction, they won't stop until they get it.
