SXM sound quality varies greatly by receiver.

In my new car, SXM sounds better than analog FM stations (in part because I suspect the internals for analog FM reception are suboptimal to make HD sound comparatively better).

SXM's audio in the new car also sounds far better than in the old car. Soundstage is better and audio is clearer with fewer artifacts.

As for Riff, it's obvious most on-air people who work there either seldom listen to the station on FM or are simply too fucking lazy to swap out the shitty sounding version of the song with a properly mastered version.
