7pm news Saturday WXYZ

Post by TRTV » Sun Jul 02, 2023 9:04 am

Did anybody catch the 7pm news last night 7/1 on WXYZ? It was 5 minutes of headlines and 2 minutes of weather then about 8 pre recorded stories that were part of newscasts earlier in the week played back to back without the anchor throwing to any of them then the anchor closed the show and that was it. No live reports no additional weather updates no sports nothing. It almost seemed like the whole thing was pre recorded other than when they would go to commercial they would show a live cam of downtown. This was the saddest newscast I have ever watched. It shouldn’t even be called a newscast.

Was there a 6 o'clock newscast?
Or was some sort of an event like a ball game or golf tournament extend over?
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

The 6 o clock was a normal full newscast. It was just the 7pm that was like that.

Looks like they are taking a page out of the playbook of CBS Detroit. A lot of pre recordings.

It's a holiday weekend.
