Karen Carter didn't even mention the Tornado Watch on the 10pm news. Their on-screen graphic was showing it though.

Their 10pm is pre-recorded and will be ending in August.
Not soon enough.

I understand it'll be replaced by a CBS News Detroit branded newscast. That's something that should've happened months ago.

The stupid "(insert city name here) NOW" concept is mercifully being dumped company wide.

Heaviest rainfall of 2+ plus inches occurred from far northern Oakland County northward, including the entire I-69 corridor.

Most of Metro Detroit saw an inch or less with the lowest amounts (half inch or less) from Detroit back through Milan.

The only probable tornado reported in Michigan occurred near Sturgis in a town called Colon (yes, that is indeed the name).

Yep, and WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids made it sound painful...

I only saw a flash or 2 of lighting and didn't hear rumbles of thunder in Kazoo County heavy rain for 5 or 10 minutes only. Going up to the main floor one at 10:15PM did hear on the roof hardly any wind either.

Weather warnings are up again this afternoon. The TV stations are covering them.

I'm surprised there's no tornado warning for extreme SE Washtenaw and extreme SW Wayne County. Pretty tight rotation showing up on radar suddenly.

Edit - a scan or two later, that potential couplet weakened. That is nonetheless the best organized cell at the moment, and it is also the farthest south cell. I think it could tighten up as it gets closer to the shoreline.

Colon (yes, that is indeed the name).

Colon is the magic capital of Michigan, rotation probably sucked a lot of rabbits out of their hats.

Did Channel 7 really need 45 minutes of coverage for a summer shower?

Once again, weather storm duds. CBS Detroit, Channel 4 and 7 make the storm to be hugee and then go on later when we have nice weather to say “we are in a drought from the dry conditions. “

But just last night they were all crying the sky is falling from all the heavy rain, seek shelter.

There was confirmed severe weather in the Lexington area as well as portions of Lapeer, Washtenaw and Monroe Counties. A likely tornado swept through the Lexington area. Other SVR warned cells were showing signs of meso rotation. The break-ins this afternoon were warranted.

In terms of the hoopla over the flooding potential a couple days ago, I do completely agree with you on that one. I said much of the area would see an inch or a bit more and little to no flooding, and that's pretty much what happened. Nearly all of the very heavy rain was in Genesee, Lapeer and St. Clair counties northward. Meanwhile, Firecracker Dave on 7 a few hours before the heart of the system moved in was calling for widespread 2 to 4 inch rain totals for Metro Detroit. 🤣

Enhanced risk of severe weather (level 3 on a 5 level scale) for areas along & south of M-59 for Wednesday.

Best risk in my opinion is along and south of I-94. Biggest threat is damaging straight-line winds.
