Ron Cameron question

Post by CurlyHoward » Sun Mar 12, 2023 3:20 pm

Is it true that the character "Cameron" in Ferris Bueller's Day Off was named after Ron Cameron? He wore a Red Wings jersey after all

This seems like a stretch, but now I’m intrigued.

If there was a scintilla of truth to this, Ron would be repeating it every hour, on the hour. And sometime in between. But he still would never have seen the movie.

There's all kinds of stuff on the Internet that explains the jersey, like:

I can't find any explanation for the name Cameron, so, for the stupid fun of it, let's say that Cameron Frye is a mixture of Ron Cameron and Dwight Frye.
