Some drama at Loco 4

Post by MWmetalhead » Mon Dec 12, 2022 3:07 pm

Is station management hyper sensitive perhaps, or was Mr. Carr rightfully ousted?

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/enter ... 720834007/

Obvious question:
Might he reappear at CBS Detroit?

Just found out!! I suspected that there would’ve been a mass exodus at DIV. Watch for another bombshell yo drip coming in 2023. Might be an affiliation change, imo.

Carr will either going back to Fox 2 to work with wifey and fix that mess that’s the Nine. Or, he will end up at CBS News Detroit.

CBS News Detroit imo, are looking for morning anchors.

The last sentence seems poorly constructed:
Previously, he was on TV in Flint where he met Taryn Asher, who is currently an anchor and a reporter at Fox 2, to whom he has been married since 2007.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

Hypersensitive.
People have become such crybabies and TV (and radio) management have zero balls.

That would certainly be a big mistake. He was not that great when he was there the first time. They may need changes on the Nine, but not that one.

His rant - assuming his criticism even rises to that level - aired on Local 4+, WDIV's streaming channel.

So, I suspect all of a few dozen viewers saw it firsthand.

What's the basis for thinking there's going to be an affiliation change? Just hoping for something big to talk about?

Almost zero chance of an affiliation change. They sure as hell aren't going to affiliate with a station owned by FOX (WJBK) or CBS (WWJ or WKBD), Scripps has a long term agreement in place with ABC for WXYZ, and I doubt NBC would want to affiliate with WMYD, WPXD or WADL.

Of those last three stations, only WMYD has a good region wide signal.

Only way NBC ever leaves WDIV is if NBC were to purchase WMYD. If WADL could be moved to a better tower, an NBC purchase of that property would be a possibility as well (assuming Adell were a willing seller).

There’s speculation that the relationship between NBC and Graham is not very good. Again, this is just speculation. As for going to WADL, I’ve seen stranger things happen.

Again, this is just speculation. I wouldn’t think too much of this.

Years ago Graham dropped CBS on WJXT-4 their station in Jacksonville Florida to become a top rated, news heavy independent.

Also, could CBS be interested in affiliating with or purchasing WDIV? They don’t seem to be in a hurry to start up their local news on channel 62.

Wouldn’t he have a non compete clause to sit out for awhile?

They/them, non-binary and proud.

Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Not a chance. News operation on 62 debuts next month. Furthermore, the delays were due to shipping and supplies. CBS just spent millions of dollars on the new set, new hires, etc. no chance they would even consider buying DIV.

What an idiot. The guy had the easiest job in tv and he let his ego destroy it. Interns could host Live in the D. I’m sure his Local 4+ show was just giving him something to fill the day. The guy was just a waste of payroll as it is, so why not dump him after that? Also, who would even want to hire the guy after he got canned for complaining about management on air? He’s not that good. Hopefully this humbles him a bit.
