The Sunday Morning "Post Modern" show on Fault 98.7 might be going away

Post by MWmetalhead » Sun Oct 30, 2022 10:37 am

Host Scott Lowe announced this morning that today would be his last show.

I have no idea if the Post Modern flashbacks show is going away completely or if it simply will be hosted by someone else moving forward.

Or they could just take the Post Modern playlist full time on the station...

I did hear him say that today "was the last Post Modern show," which does seem to suggest it's going away for good with no replacement host forthcoming.

Maybe Alt itself is about to be sacked.

Didn't know Alt had a show like that, If anyone in that building had a clue they would bring in Cristina https://www.mixcloud.com/CristinaRocks/

It's been two years and they only have a 2.1 rating which is a little lower than what many Commercial broadcast companies are willing to tolerate on a FM. This was predicted on this board at the start, so Alt might indeed be on the way out. Any chance of Bell bringing back 89x if that happens?

This. 100%.

Holly Hutton works in that building. I've said all along it's surprising she is not involved in any way with Alt 98.7.

No.

Because that means someone at the corporate beehive admitting they fucked up. That Will not happen.

The answers are right in front of them. There are alt and alt flavored stations that do fairly well. Only certain zip codes in the greater Detroit care about what passes for alt music these days. There's a reason this format grew out of college and "left of the dial" stations. It's an even harder sell here.

I say fuck it and flip to another Toto and BTO format.

Nothing would completely surprise me at this point.

I will note 98.7 likely fares better in A18 - 49 and A25 - 54 than the largely meaningless age 6+ numbers.

I didn’t even know the show existed. The only show that was promoted outside of its own time segments was Lazlo. It’s that fucking robotic. This station is run so annoyingly.

They/them, non-binary and proud.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

I have to admit, I had NO IDEA 98.7 had a show like this, then again I am usually sound asleep at that time of the morning.

Don't be shocked if WDZH becomes Santa 98.7 or Christmas 98.7.

I know! Yule log 98.7

" Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas Detroit, this is Yule log 98.7, all Christmas all the time"

Then after the holidays it flips to a simulcast of WWJ or like Mega Hertz said, another station that plays BTO, 70s, heart, and Steve Miller band.

They just added a local morning show, so I don’t think they blow it up this Holiday season.

If ratings aren’t considerably better this time next year, I expect them to flip.

Didn't they add Chad and Kristi just days before the flip from the Breeze?
