How cheesy to send Kim Adams to coastal Florida near Clearwater and to lead with hurricane coverage...

The national news will talk ad nauseam about the hurricane. I don't need to be inundated with Florida hurricane coverage at the top of a DETROIT local newscast.

Really putting her life at risk being in that area. Cheap promotion at the expense of Florida families. Pointless.

I didn't see it, but I agree with both of you. That's stupid to send a local meteorologist down there for coverage. Plenty of other sources for that info.

This comes right after they sent Kimberly Gill to England for the already very heavily covered Queen Elizabeth funeral.

Why don't they just use someone from WKMG to do live shot for WDIV which didn't need to send someone for Cane Ian in my opinion?

Not to mention Graham also has a station in Miami. Storm is probably going to make landfall near Sarasota or Venice, most likely the latter. Boca Grande is definitely at high risk of a direct landfall, too. The narrow barrier islands will be devastated.

Tampa Bay is probably going to dodge a bullet yet again! Amazing how many storms they've missed over the past 100 years.

Areas 30 or 40 miles south or east (Lakeland) could still see major impacts from widespread flooding, with some wind damage.

Why would they send her down there.

I don't know if you guys know this, but Kim is a Mom. Why would they put someone's Mom in a dangerous state like that. Then adding a hurricane to the mix............

Kim has a son that was/is going to school in that area and was heading down there regardless. It would be my guess that the powers that be, decided to send a photojournalist with her. Not a fan of the concept but I am not ready to judge on that.

I was being sarcastic. They overdid it telling everyone she was a mom years ago - to the point of being annoying with it.

Was watching some random FB videos of FMB damage and recognized the voice of the guy narrating his trip down the canal to find out how his house faired from Ian. It was Stephen Clark from Ch 7. Probably can find it on his FB page. I believe he said he "borrowed" a boat he found to make the trip.
