WOMC playing my favorite song

Totally random but I just had to make a thread about this lol.
I was looking through the playlist and was shocked to see my favorite song on there.
"I Got You" by Split Enz.

It didn't even make the top 40 here.

It was a hit in Canada though. Maybe they're trying to pull in some audience away from Cool FM.

Anyone familiar with the song?

Great tune. I bought the 45 back n 1980. It reached #1 in Australia and the groups native New Zealand. #53 in US. By July of 1980 it had become the largest selling single in Australian music history.

Are you sure it was for that track? Just out of curiosity I looked on Discogs and the only green vinyl I saw in the discography is a 2020 reissue of the True Colours album and some club edition Christmas 7". There are promo 7" listed but not green vinyl. Nothing on eBay either.

I thought it was, but obviously, it was many, many years ago. I no longer have the 45 or know where it is.

That song (one of my faves as well) is considered an Alternative classic. The old Planet 96.3 used to play it a lot. I'd be surprised if it's not played on WQKL now.
The band, as most of you probably know, included brothers Neil and Tim Finn who would go on to bigger success (in the U.S. anyway) with Crowded House.
