I checked out the morning show in passing. First break I heard was about him being an oppressed white male in America, unable to say shitty things online.
I was listening when your fave track was number 1 on the Rock n Roll 500 over Memorial Day weekend. Podell said it was "the most voted on and most requested" which just seemed incomprehensible.

A bunch of ham 'n eggers listen to that radio station, so that list actually is not terribly surprising to me.

I am honored you remembered how much I hate that song. I'm so sick of that one (and just about everything else on that "voted for" list) that I'm tempted to punch a hole in my car stereo. Thank God for ear buds and aux cords.

Heh, not too hard to remember as you've mentioned it a lot.

I mention it every time I hear the song, which is no less than 5 times a day.

Remember, I'm in listening range of numerous stations that play that song and most on that list. Many are overplayed as it is. So my burnout is probably a little higher.

It sure seems like WLLZ is going full blown WCSX clone. God, I hate WLLZ and everyone who has any decision making authority there. Absolutely pathetic.
Seriously, I cannot stress strongly enough how hard these toolbags suck ass.

WIQB on its worst day sounded better than anything on WLLZ. Just heard Mr. Crowley followed by Metallica's "Turn The Page." Long gone are the days a jock would spin "Incomudro" so he could hit the loo, have a smoke, or scarf a sandwich. They'll beat us over the head with "Roundabout" instead of "Leave It" before the night's over.

Not so sure I agree with that; WIQB's daytime playlist was utter trash under Cumulus ownership. A bad rip off of WRIF with inferior air talent. Running Bob & Tom in the morning in THAT market was just stupid.

Bob Bauer and John O'Leary did not fit at all on that station, and the midday jock (Kenny something-or-other) did nothing more than read liners.

Q106 in Lansing sounded so much better than WIQB at the time (1999 / 2000) that it ain't even funny.

Betcha Podell has been wanting to take over for a while. They just plug a Premium Choice (or whatever the hell they call it now) list in and call it good. Casey is a corporate yes-man, so don’t expect him to take risks.

I sure miss the original WLLZ from the 80’s and early 90’s.

Just heard "Modern Day Cowboy" by Tesla on WRIF.
This is the exact type of stuff WLLZ should be playing. But nope, they spin "Hotel California" and Bob Seger for the millionth time.

How sad is it that a great rock and roll city like Detroit has no dedicated place for late 80's and early 90's rock and roll? Fuck you WLLZ.

Dude. Jackyl just popped into my head. I wonder if Wheels could be tempted to play them?

The ratings get higher the more older songs they add.
I don't understand the complaints.
I just looked at the playlist history for the last several hours and it's a pretty nice variety from the 60s to the 2000s.
The issue I see though is the Evanescence fan is likely going to tune out when Black Sabbath comes on, and vice versa.

A lot of the people I see on this board want the radio stations to be their personal jukebox. That's never going to happen.
You need to think as a program director.
