If I'm not mistaken, that site hadn't been updated in a really long time, either. I remember at one time the site was for sale, but I'm not sure if he ever actually sold it.

Mike's busy with his family. It's really too bad no one else has picked up the mantle in the years since he had to step down from operating the site. RadioInsight and to an extent this board are where I get most of my news now.

in general terms, what is the cost of just keeping the site running as-is (hosting on server costs/ other costs...)

For a basic site, not much. Hosting $3 to $5 per month and domain under $20 per year. So roughly $50-70 per year
