...has been running fragments of audio for almost 24 hours. Not addressing anyone in particular, but when will you idiots finally get it that a flimsy internet connection is NOT a reliable STL?

WCXI with garbled audio, WCAR off air, WPON running automated oldies all day (hate to see the BMI/ASCAP bills on that one) makes me wonder how Sima Jr is keeping the lights on. WNZK, and the two Chicago stations have to be footing the bill.

After reading some of the litigation that's occurred over the past few years, I would guess the elder Sima is still in charge. Ouch!

In any event, someone clearly needs help with the automation, STL, whatever. What a mess.

I noticed the signal from Windsor has been spotty lately. It’s clear these guys try, but will never be A+. Sima Sr or Jr - whoever is running it, get some high school or college co-op students to help you out. Have them help you with the board, some on air promos, something.

Exactly as you described. The fragmented audio was replaced by the distorted mess we are hearing now.

Birach got hit with a fine for an unauthorized silent station down south. Better be careful if they got fined for that and WCAR and WCXI are both off without authorization.

Maybe I’m being ignorant, but for someone who has ran multiple radio stations over the years, this seams like simple clerical stuff that wasn’t occurring. Am I missing something?

Honestly, I’m not sure. But they were hit with a fine for missed clerical work as suggested. Are WCAR and possibly WCXI authorized to be silent? I think WCAR has been off a couple months, probably not WCXI though. They seem to be on the struggle bus though, so I’m suggesting for them to be careful to avoid more trouble with the FCC.

Was monitoring WCXI and at 11:00 AM today (12/30/21) they played one commercial and did an ID. In that brief time nothing was distorted. After the ID then it went back to carrier only -- all quiet.

No sooner did I post then at 11:06 they ran two more spots then all quiet. Obviously some corrections have been made and on-air testing is underway.

WCXI is back, with clean audio.

There are two black guys hosting a local talk show. I've been listening 30 minutes, and I still have no idea who they are, or the name of the program. SMH
