WJBK schedule question
WJBK schedule question
As we all know, Judge Judy will go off the air this fall. My question is, what will replace Judge Judy in the 4pm hour? Will another show go there, or is Fox 2 about to add a 4pm newscast and follow the lead of their sister station in DC, WTTG??
Re: WJBK schedule question
Channel 2 has tried 4pm news may times in the past with lackluster results. I would be surprised if they tried it again
plenty of other crap syndicated shows out there they could pick up or move. TMZ would do well at 4pm

Re: WJBK schedule question
I figured they would be picking up Nick Cannon's new talk show, but it looks like it's going to WKBD.

I guarantee it'll be a black host, no matter what. The media HAS to pander to black people. I think it's a federal law now.
Re: WJBK schedule question
Heard rumors about either Divorce Court or 25 Words or Less coming to Fox 2 (WJBK). Waiting for confirmation with this. Nick Cannon’s new show is moving to WWJ (CBS 62) this fall.
Fox 2 is also rumored to get brand new show promotion graphics this fall as well.

Would love to see a finance market recap show as trade market ends at 4pm.
It’s a trending thing going on and could bring in ratings for the station as many of the younger folks don’t have cable to watch the bigger finance tv shows

Re: WJBK schedule question
If I remember right, WDIV is #1 from 4 to 5.
Maybe come up with what they are doing? News from 4 to 4:30. Something like Inside Edition from 4:30 to 5.
Myself, I don't think any talk show is going to fare well at that slot.
Do other Fox affiliates pick up a half hour or hour of national news from the network sometime in the evening? Maybe go back to local news from 4 to 5. And network news from 6 or 6:30 until 7.

Re: WJBK schedule question
Judge Judy's last new episode already aired on July 23. I have heard the show is staying on in reruns for the foreseeable future. That doesn't necessarily mean WJBK will choose to keep running them, but if they drop it, I imagine some other station will pick it up. (JJ's new show will air not on broadcast TV but on iMDB-TV.)
What I'm wondering about is the JJ-created "Hot Bench." I haven't heard one way or the other whether that series is continuing.

Hot Bench is still continuing. I don't know if WZZM is keeping Judge Judy repeats and keeping her at 4PM or if they will air a 4PM newscast only TV station that does a 4PM newscast is WXMI Fox17 since 2014.

I remember WJBK airing Divorce Court 10-11 years ago, so this would be a return for the show on the station.CircleWXYZ wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 2:06 pmHeard rumors about either Divorce Court or 25 Words or Less coming to Fox 2 (WJBK). Re: WJBK schedule question
It doesn't cost a station much extra to add an hour of local news to the schedule. Most everything is already in place. It may be cheaper to add some local news than to buy a syndicated show. And spreading the fixed costs of local news over an expanded schedule may make the other time slots in which news is scheduled look more profitable (on the books).
Re: WJBK schedule question
But who was doing the news up against Drew and Norville? Was it Grandpa and Grandma Perkins?
I know I'm a broken record about this. I've been waiting for someone to post the ratings again. And see if the same thing happens once again. The younger the people in front of the camera, the more people watch. Every time. If you don't believe me, swim back thru the posts and see for yourself.
