Paul Gross has revised his forecast. As of 12 noon. Very small amounts of snow predicted.

As of 6pm we’ll get a few tenths of an inch of wet snow mostly on the grass.

Considering the low is 34, I think we’ll be fine.

An inch of snow fell at my house this evening. Very little accumulation on paved surfaces, but plenty of snow on the grass and especially elevated surfaces.

The NWS forecast issued late afternoon had called for only a 30 percent chance of snow for my neighborhood this evening.

For today, many folks forecasted 1 to 2 inches of snow along and south of roughly a Port Huron to Dexter line. That's not an unreasonable prediction.

However, in looking at radar trends, I'd probably boost and expand that range a bit. I'd say 1 to 3 inches, and I think some areas like Owosso and Lansing are going to get in on the action. There's a pretty good disturbance that is cranking out snow at a decent clip on the west side of the state. That feature will gradually pivot eastward.

Any thoughts on tomorrow's predicted big storm (6-8 inches according to the Weather Channel website)? After that big misfire in December, I'm not sure what to think.

If it’s inconsequential from 5am to 10am and we get 5-7 inches (let’s say there’s an inch the first 5 hours) by 7pm… that’s a lotta snow pretty quick. That said I wonder if it’ll be heavier or if the system will go a county or two either direction. Having only Wayne-Monroe-Lenawee under the warning is unusual.

I think the NWS and TWC predictions are a tad high.

My forecast is 2 to 5 inches generally along and behind a line from Ann Arbor, to Warren, to Harrison Twp. Best chance of 4 or 5 inch accumulations will be near the southern edge of the aforementioned zone.

South and east of the above line, I think a 4 to 6 inch accumulation is likely.

I soaked up the surprisingly nice weather today!

What's the prediction for the greater Brighton area? Even if I gotta go to work tomorrow, I don't wanna have to look at it at my house lol

A few inches look probable for Brighton.

This will be a pretty hard packed snow. A shovel full will weigh a lot.

Same old "shtick!” All the weather guys have their pants around the ankles with HOPE that it snows more than 2 inches.

I was surprised to see the NWS expand the winter storm warning. I just do not see a widespread 6 to 8 inch snowfall occurring. Frankly, I think none of the SE Michigan counties should be under a warning; this will be an advisory criteria event for most.

The initial burst of heavy snow falling now could prove to be the heaviest with this system. Many areas will see a quick inch or two before dawn. Afterward, another 2 to 3 inches appear probable.

I think 3 to 5 inch storm totals will be common, with a couple areas seeing a bit less and a couple seeing a bit more. I no longer believe areas near the state line will see discernibly higher totals than the heart of Metro Detroit.

I like the Fox 2 snowfall forecast the best, as usual.

There will be considerable variability in snowfall intensity during the day. There will be times where little to no precip is falling in spots.

You’ve been wrong lately.

Fox 2 says 3-5”, WXYZ says 4-7”. I will say 4-6” which is the original prediction from NWS.
