Tonight marks day 1 of independent WMYD and My Network TV WADL. Believe it or not, WADL actually changed their logo to MNTV standards in 2021 and WMYD didn't change their callsign.

My furthest DTV tropo: KDKA Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at 202 miles for three days in January 2017 and a night in September 2017 with only an Antennas Direct C2V!

Current setup: Antennas Direct C2Max (2018-present)

It looks sharp, I must admit. An improvement over the bouncy ball styled logo for sure!

Mr. Adell asked me to pass this along;

“Thanks for the nice complement on the new logo!! “

To coincide with the "affiliation" swap, WADL also launched a new website. Amusingly, they have a section on analog TV that describes it as what "most current television transmissions" are received as, as if it were still 2005.

Shocked TV 20 didn’t change their call letters.

Does anyone know if 38 is going to keep their weekend movies? I am one of the about 1,000 people, (a guess) that watches it, (well DVRs it) on a semi regular basis. (Although if it goes away a lot of those films are on Xfinity On Demand / Epix.) Does anyone out there ever see those, (I 've brought this up before but not in the last few years and they are some new people on this board.)

Count me in too. I used to catch them fairly frequently but have not seen one on there in a bit. You have to go out of your way to figure out what's going to be one, similar to FaveTV

Currently, I can’t get WADL or WMYD, as I don’t have cable. I only have a HuluTV subscriptions. Trying to find another way to get those two stations.

Buy an antenna to watch WADL. Buy a converter/3.0 TV to watch WMYD.

What does WMYD have on that's not already on the air in Detroit on regular TV now? (Nothing is my answer)

For some reason everyone seems to think getting My Network is a big deal. Why?

My Network is not a real network, they are a "distribution service". They provide 2 hours of reruns weeknights. That's it! 10 hours of programs a week is all they send to the station. Some markets actually run them overnight.

Glad to see that WADL is using the MyNet logo now. Looks good!

I agree it's no big deal for WMYD. Said so weeks ago.

However, the acquired programming is probably beneficial for WADL.

I kind of liked to old WADL sign. It had a nice retro feel to it, like the Old 62 logo. (Yeah I get it, it's not 1980 anymore, things change, stop living in the past. That's what my rational left brain is telling me.)

I know. But I can't pick up WADL because they're way on the east side. I live on the west side.
The west side of the state? I'm on the west side of the metro area and I usually don't have any problem picking them up
No. I live on the west side of Detroit.
If you're using a sharply directional antenna that is aimed at Southfield, the tight pattern may actually be working against you - as WADL's signal is off to the right side.

ATSC 3.0 could eventually save it a few years down the road. 3.0 is far more robust than 1.0 where multipath is a problem.
