106.7 The D 2.0 Varity Hits

Post by Deleted User 15502 » Sat Mar 13, 2021 10:11 pm

It only lasted 6 months but I really liked the station. I was pretty impressed with there playlist and some of the songs they put back to back was interesting at times. The fact they ditched it for the awful Alt format was a bummer.

Some of the more interesting back to back Song combinations, going off memory.

Led Zeppelin- Black Dog
Madonna-Crazy for you

Live-Lighting Crashes
Steely Dan- Deacon Blues

REM-It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine
Whitesnake- Slow and easy

New Radicals- You get what you give
Wilson Phillips- Hold on

The Bangles- Manic Monday
Pearl Jam- Betterman

Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here
Michael Bolton- Time Love and tenderness.

Hey, studies were showing we weren't hearing Bohemian Rhapsody enough times per day. Throw in Crue and Leppard and we're good!

The station should be renamed “Bohemian 106.7”. All Bohemian Rhapsody all the time.

You may laugh, but my co-worker and I were talking about starting a station that played ONLY Queen, Crue, Leppard, GNR, STP from the first album, one or two Nirvana songs and Metallica only from the black album. We'd fucking OWN the Detroit market!

If you find yourself short music for the hour, just throw "Appetite For Destruction" in the CD player and let it play.

Let's not pretend 106.7 is the only culprit. 94.7, 104.3, 104.7, 103.9 and 93.5 are just as guilty.

Not as guilty as 106.7. I think Bohemian Rhapsody is now the top of the hour ID for 106.7

I liked it, too. 5720047472910 plays ago. You could always find a GnR CD in my car changer. I used to have Queen albums. Nirvana? Couldn't get enough.

Now? It's like "Name That Tune".

Steve Miller Band, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, GNR, Bad Company, Metallica, Queen. I'm late for the door. Oh, and "Another Bites the dust" is god awful too.
