Caputo Producer??

Post by Deleted User 15225 » Sat Jan 02, 2021 9:42 am

The past few weekends I've noticed that Caputo has been putting his producer on air quite a bit. I don't ever remember him sharing the mic with anyone in the past. Hell, he doesn't even let his callers speak. To boot, this kid sounds like he has a speech impediment.

Anyone else catch this? Caputo is bad....really bad...this just makes it worse.

Pat is always doing 4 hour shows by himself during the worst timeslots for calls. it has to be tough. At least there is some back and forth talking and gives the producer some air time that he wouldn't normally get.

Speaking of 97.1, I was listening to Karsch and Anderson this last month when one of them is off each week and when Karsch does his show solo... That is some bad radio. He could never do a solo show, its the most depressing thing ever.

Yes to both of those.

When Jamie passed the talent void just became unmistakable for Detroit sports talk. Are we really that hard up that what we have now is the best we can do?

Some of the sports talk may have to do with the lack of any good teams in this town. Who wants to talk about losing teams for hours?
I agree that Caputo is bad, might be why he lost his newspaper gig, he always tries to lean to his leftist policies when no callers are available. Maybe he should be on a political station so he can give his opinions more.

Jamie wasn't worth a damn tbh. Sad he passed on, but gotta be honest, as poor as the talent is on 97.1, he still wasn't top tier, even there.

As or Caputo, he brings nothing fresh. He sounds like a doddering old man who is lost in his thoughts. He's old and not working as much now, so dementia is possible, but he has always been like that. He has good sport history knowledge about Detroit and surrounding area sports, but that's the kind of thing most people have from just watching and being a sports fan for years. You could take the average fan, give him a few months of prep to be on air, and he could be an improvement over Pat.
