I believe Westwood One News was originally one of Lew Dickey Jr's pet projects. Yet another great "brand" down the commode, apparently.

It had 900 affiliates at last check. I just can't imagine that news wasn't in demand right now. Hard to see your run of the mill local jock not being nervous at a Cumulus station right now. There is only so much national programming they can cut.
