This happens quite a bit when a famous media personality retires or dies after many years at the station.

It's a nice gesture, but a largely symbolic one.

Why not donate money to cancer research in Jamie's memory? Oh that's right - I forgot - Entercom is CHEAP.

I think donating money to a cancer resarch charity would be a great idea, but Entercom is cheap which is why it won't happen.

He wasn't good enough for that.

Here is the video posted by 97.1FM. It is obvious the people who worked with Jamie were affected by his passing: https://youtu.be/r3ncPG_A4tE

Is this truly about honoring Samuelsen or drumming up attention for the radio station? I hope it is the former.

Undoubtedly his colleagues have been shaken to their core by his passing; there's no arguing that. His passing is a horrible tragedy.

I hope it's the former too.

It's got to be very tough for all the employees at 97.1 the Ticket right now as he was their good friend and collegue. They all seemed to be very close to him.

Jon Jansen has been hired to take Jamie's place.

Interesting choice.

This is a nice honor for a great guy. Better than having “from the (fill in the law firm name) studio”. But I don’t really consider him as an icon in local broadcasting lore.

Oh it will be the Sam Bernstein studio as soon as someone sponsors it. They'll just have a plaque outside the door at the station and that's it.
