WUDT has gotten a new construction permit to move back to RF 8 and this time it expires on May 9, 2025.

WUDT Moved to off RF23 to RF8, almost thought it would never happen.

Maybe y'all can get a whiff of a signal on WNWO, which they're now all alone on RF 23! In the meantime, by the way, I rescanned my HDTV, and I didn't see anything coming up on RF 8 and RF 23.

I rescanned yesterday just for fun. WHNE was picked up (stable signal, too), but I was unable to pick up WDWO, WUDT or WUDL. Previously, WUDT was almost always a lock. I've always had difficulty picking up WUDL unless using one of the flat panel antennas designed primarily for UHF reception.

These results were using a $10 set top VHF & UHF combo antenna. Dipoles only extend about a foot.

On Friday there was a signal on RF8, but when I tried to lock it in on my CM DVR it added channel 0.0 that I can't even view, and RF23 had no signal at all.

Now there is no signal on RF8 and RF23 has a signal but can't lock on to any channels. I don't even know why I care, I'm going to put the channel on skip when it does move. I guess I am just curious on how long they were going to hold out before moving, or were they just going to shutdown completely.

WUDL RF35 always has a weak signal but I can never lock into it, which I don't mind.

WHNE has been coming in better, but still gets effected by weather more than any other station.

I'll have to do some more tests. I have been able to pick up WNWO pretty reliably since they boosted their power, but to do that I had to attenuate the signals from the other antenna which is pointed more towards WUDT. That also means I'm not getting CBET hardly at all, but did get it pretty good before the attenuation. That attenuation also affects WDIV in certain weather patterns. If WUDT definitely moved then I can re-optimize and make everything better. Hoping that's the case!

Okay I think the mystery has been solved, this morning I picked up a strong signal on RF8 and was able to lock it in.
It was WJW Fox 8 out of Cleveland. So it must be atmospheric.
I have also seen RF14 WCHM NBC 4 out of Columbus.
I also picked up RF23 WNWO NBC 24 out of Toledo while WUDT was down probably due to power outage.
Still can't get RF35 to lock it, just a weak signal like normal.

Last time I rescanned my TV, I didn't see anything come up on RF 8 and RF 23. What's wrong with WUDT right now?

I had just noticed that WUDT has just went silent and it won't return to the air until they move back to RF 8 after the repack.

I thought the repack was done?

But I guess on this article they conclude with a little caveat...

FCC Announces Repack Complete, Spectrum Open for Wireless
By Michael Balderston published July 13, 2020

“There is still much work to be done. To meet FCC deadlines, many stations have been required to operate on temporary facilities that do not serve all station viewers. NAB will continue to work with the FCC to ensure that these stations are made whole and that affected viewers regain access to their local channels."

The reason why WUDT went silent because of WNWO NBC 24 out of Toledo taking over RF 23 after the repack in late 2018.

Not until they move back to RF 8, mmb5! WNWO has finally won the battle and the war on RF 23!

Have anyone noticed that WUDT is now silent, not returning to the air until they move back to RF 8?

Yes, we've noticed. You've already mentioned it multiple times.
