There was so much material to wade through premiere week that l failed to take note of Ron’s reaction when Cowboy, doing his birthday schtick, mentioned that his long-dead Mother would be 104 if still alive. Just as he did when Cowboy made a similar reference a few years ago, Ron said, “Wow.” I can only imagine Ron’s stunned response upon learning that Abraham Lincoln would be 212 if he were still living.

Welcome Back Ron
Your diarrhea was your ticket out
Welcome Back
To that same old place you complained about
Well, some of the names have changed since you hung around
But those restaurant dreams have remained And as usual they will run aground
Who'd have thought they'd lead you
Back here where we need you
Yeah, we tease him a lot
'cause we got him on the spot
Welcome back Ron

That's pretty good. It's easy to imagine a classroom of characters:
  • Curt from Fraser, the guy who never stops talking or arguing with the teacher
  • Cowboy from Windsor, always trying to show off his trivia knowledge
  • Mr. Positive, who emotes like Bette Davis every time he answers a question
  • J.J. from Lincoln Park, always dressed to the nines in his maize-and-blue regalia
  • Gary from Tawas, who's been held back a few times and acts as a misguided mentor to the other students
  • Mark from Warren, whose whiny monotone and repetitive questions drive everyone else nuts

Ron mentioned last week the possibility of Denny being a guest tonight. If so, I suspect his visit will be brief, certainly not the full three hours. Fortunately, though, “there is so much to talk about,” so the three hours will be a breeze for an veteran ace broadcaster like Scoop. The bigger question is whether Kurt & the Warren boys - at least Mark & Dave - have received their telegram about Ron’s return to WDTK & his new hours. And whether Mr. Positive will make a return to the Cameron airwaves to offer one of his uplifting homilies to a grateful audience.

Caller Todd would be best advised to get in writing Ron’s offer of a free meal at his proposed new Novi restaurant.

Just another week until Ron gets his restaurant. You can take that to the bank.

Has Ron lost Loui’s Pizza as a sponsor? He hasn’t mentioned the home of the world’s best pizza since his return to WDTK.

You know that Ron has never read this "great" book that tonight's guest (again!) Rich Kincaide wrote years ago.
