Here is a picture that accompanies what I think was the only Detroit News acknowledgement of Ron's death. I'd never seen this picture before.

You're right, Bobbert, this was its only acknowledgement of Ron's death. Odd that it would only come months later, in this context.
It's been there awhile. I just happened to notice it while doing an Internet search for anything new related to Ron.

Here it is when this list was published on March 20:

I wonder if the short caption fulfilled Ted Kulfan's pledge to write Ron's biography.

Also, the same week Ron died, two lesser known old-time hockey players died—Jean-Guy Talbot and Don Poile. The kind of guys that Ron was fond of interviewing.

Yeah, but Ron's bread and butter interviewee was the cup of coffee guys. (No cream or sugar though)

Here's another feather in our cap. We've successfully infiltrated the search results of the mighty Google search engine.

Here's a bizarre graphic from the website of one of Ron's transient sponsors (https://www.surgeonsolution.io/):

Surgeonsolutions' choice of image regarding Ron Cameron is interesting in that the photograph was made available via eBay from Historic Images. Taken during his WXYZ-AM tenure, a Detroit Red Wing player is in the background. Surgeonsolutions' website makes reference to their September 10, 2023 conversation with Ron. The chat lasted about seven and a half minutes. The broadcast was also supposed to have Ray Scott as a guest, but he didn't call that day. Ron wound up telling stories about various Detroit area broadcasters, including mentioning that he was asked to be a Red Wing radio announcer. Mr. Cameron also mentioned that the offer was written about in the Detroit News. Again I reminded everybody in "Buzzboard-land" that I have a recording of this broadcast and can make a CD for background ambience should we ever have a "Ronathon."

Thanks for the background info on that photo. Its bizarre collage of messages makes it deserving part of the Ron Cameron multi-verse.

Also, I keep checking https://mcrfb.com/ to see if the webmaster has made any use of the material I provided him. Haven't seen anything yet.

Momo / Bobbert / Fellow Buzzboarders -

I have really enjoyed your input on this site over time. Now with Ron departed I just wanted to throw this out if at all
interested. If you are so inclined in getting together to talk Ron memories, sports in general, or whatever in between I am
often at Hermann's Olde Towne Grill and Pub in Plymouth mid afternoonish on weekdays. Just ask the bartender for Rob and I conceivably will be in attendance. Cheers.
Rob, I sent you a private message about this.

Perhaps we could have a "Ronathon" at a location of one of his many restaurants/grilles. Perhaps the locale of "Woodward and 14 1/2 Mile" in Birmingham (no need to mention Michigan) which is where Ron had an establishment on September 9, 1981:https://historicimages.com/cdn/shop/pro ... 1650986097

Let me know if you got any of my responses. They show up in my outbox, but not in my sent box, as I was expecting.

It's a mystery to me, too. I'm pretty available the rest of the week. 1:00ish works best for me. If you're also flexible, why don't you propose some alternative days so the others who are interested can weigh in with their preferences.

Okay. Let's wait & see if the others interested in meeting up have a preference.
