Throwback Friday. Thanks, Bobbert. I'm looking forward to revisit the past with Ron. Although what's old with Ron is also what's new.

Just finished listening to Ron's self-aggrandizing, Xmas eve broadcast from 2016. What warm childhood memories of the holiday season. Ron had none. I don't recall Ron ever repeating the story from this classic episode from the archives that the president of ABC called Ron the "top sports host" in America. I wonder if Alex ever got his chance to talk about what informed his childhood interest in sports? The first time he sought to bring this up, Ron cut him off immediately. Obviously feeling no holiday cheer, Ron cut Alex off with an abrupt "who cares?" the next time he tried to bring up the subject. Ron sounded like he was about to open a new restaurant - in parts unknown - the next month. If he did, that may well have been his last one, to date.

Didn't "Drew" used to call under a different name?
It seems to me that the hour's lone caller, "Jeff from Ferndale," may be the caller now known as "Drew from Troy."

Yeah, it was a little sad that Ron doesn't have any good childhood memories of Christmas. Definitely someone with a complex psychological back story.

It's also sad how much he bullied and belittled Alex, who is now one of his best guests.

I think the restaurant was the one in the food court in Laurel Park. That part of the mall is a ghost town, so it would probably have been a very short-lived operation.

Sure, no problem. I've got about six months worth of audio. I'll try to post something at least in the weeks when the regular podcast doesn't come through, maybe more often.

Maybe the station is waiting for Ron's check to clear before putting up the podcasts. Knowing Ron, he's probably still using The National Bank of Detroit, or Michigan National Bank.

Wonder how Ron's taking the news that his buddy Ramon Santiago has been demoted from third-base and infield coach of the Tigers to a role in minor league player development.

Also wonder if Cowboy will again awkwardly remind Ron of the October 11 anniversary of Cory Lidle's plane crash.

So many questions. Did the plane crash into the (post-9/11) Twin Towers or Trump Plaza (or even a Trump-owned building)? Under what circumstances did Ron "just miss" being on this suicidal mission? Since Lidle's death, has Ron acted as a father figure to his child(ren)?

Here's a good simulation of the accident. Lidle was flying from New Jersey to Nashville but decided to take a joy ride around Manhattan first.

Thanks. Where did the notion that this was a suicidal mission take root? Is that something Ron has said? And under what possible scenario could Ron have been onboard?! The Yankees & Tigers played in the ALDS that post-season, but the games at Yankee Stadum were on 10/3 & 10/5, while the Comerica Park games were on 10/6 & 10/7. Maybe it can be explained if Ron & Cory were roommates at Ron's home at the Waldorf.
