Ron Cameron
Re: Ron Cameron
No Cowboy tonight. I hope he's alright. And JJ, who I thought would be a returning regular, has been only an occasional caller.
Who are these people on the street - with criminally low standards - telling Ron what a great show he has?! Ron, who's not so oriented to time & space, might be remembering a contact from the '70s.

Re: Ron Cameron
With the lack of guests Ron needs help.I would like to see a grass roots movement started to bring Mr Positive in as a co host.
Re: Ron Cameron
Listening to the beginning of this past weekend’s show podcast and Ron just congratulated the Little League World Series Champs from “Taylor-tucky”. Is that Ron’s attempt at “humor”?!?!
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron has a podcast now?
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron repeated that line at least once more later in the show. His enthusiasm for the Little League team seemed a little disingenuous, more in the vein of “Message: I Care.” But the topic allowed him to do what he always tries to do,, bringing everything back to himself, as he spoke of having had Hamtramck’s Pinky Deras - the “greatest Little Leaguer ever” - as a guest in the past.
On its local podcast page, WDTK rebroadcasts Ron’s program.
Re: Ron Cameron
Thank you, it's surprising to me that WDTK has a podcast!
Re: Ron Cameron
If Mr.Positive and Ron agree to co host a good name for the show could be Positively Ron.Perhaps Bobbert could be hired to write the theme song .I hope Mr.P ositive lets Ron know that their fans want them together for a full 3 hours.
Re: Ron Cameron
I don’t know whether Mr. Positive would accept a draft - “if nominated, I will not run; if elected, I will not serve” - but I do know that Ron’s current very fragile ego would not allow for the possibility of a co-host.
Re: Ron Cameron
Why not ? He has Alex on so much he is like a co host.In fact lets get Alex Mr Positive and Ron to host the show.

For those interested in the history of Ron, two photos of "Scoop" are available with purchase via eBay. One is from 1978 (disregard the "1968" date stamped on the back) presumably from his WXYZ-AM days, pictured with Detroit Red Wing Bill Lochead. Mr. Cameron is literally credited as "Ron Scoop Cameron."https://www.ebay.com/itm/304063681330?_ ... %7Ciid%3A1
The second is from 1982 with Ron interviewing then Detroit Lions coach Monte Clark at Mr K's lounge:https://www.ebay.com/itm/303978060787?_ ... %7Ciid%3A1

Thanks. I wonder if he's doing his own producing in the first photo.ShempLives wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 12:36 pmFor those interested in the history of Ron, two photos of "Scoop" are available with purchase via eBay. Back in the day when Ron says he was a hunk. If he finds out about this, Ron will surely want to have his “palms greased” by the eBay seller.ShempLives wrote: ↑Sat Sep 04, 2021 12:36 pmFor those interested in the history of Ron, two photos of "Scoop" are available with purchase via eBay. Re: Ron Cameron
Last time I saw “Scoop” in public, a few years ago in a local bookstore, he was was wearing one those signature worn, pilly, in-need-of-trip-to-a-dry-cleaner-if-only-RC-could-sell-them-an-ad sweaters, just like those photos.

Re: Ron Cameron
It’s Sunday you know what that means, perhaps a special pre holiday edition tonight!

So many questions to be answered.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 05, 2021 8:42 amIt’s Sunday you know what that means, perhaps a special pre holiday edition tonight!
With Labor Day tomorrow, will Ron have any notion that this is a holiday weekend (I remember him last year pleading ignorance as to when Memorial Day fell)? And speaking of Labor Day, in his glory days, did Ron ever participate in the Jerry Lewis MDA telethon? Or any other civic-minded pursuit such as the annual Channel 56 auctions?
Will any of the regulars, Cowboy, JJ, the Warren boys, Mark & Dave, all MIA last week, be returning?
Will any of the many bandied possible guests mentioned last week be on the show tonight? Is Phil Regan taking Ron's calls ("I hope he's okay")?
Does Ron have any stories about Southfield’s legendary Ted Simmons, who will be inducted Wednesday into the (Howie Haak-less) HOF? Maybe a vacation together somewhere exotic?
