Hearing the callers

Post by JLesinski » Thu Aug 15, 2019 4:28 pm

I'm not a Jim Rome fan but one of the things he used to say that I liked is "More of me and less of you is a good thing." meaning the callers. I agree with this sentiment whole-heartedly. Often 97.1 is unlistenable because the callers either can't get to their point or just suck in general. Personally, the worst is when I have to turn up the volume to hear a caller when that caller is gonna suck ass 90% of the time. Why is the caller volume so much different than the hosts?
Can someone in the business please tell me if this is on purpose? Sort of the like the TV talk show host who sits a full foot higher than the guest?
