Speaking of Loverboy, they don't play "Hot Girls In Love" or "Queen Of The Broken Hearts" (both songs from 1983 "Keep It Up") on radio stations anymore. Back in early 1983, the late radio show host Bob Coburn of "Rockline" had Mike Reno & Paul Dean of Loverboy BUT they could NOT think of an album title for their 3rd album!! So "Keep It Up" was the title. Problem was it wasn't very good.

The Album or the title? Actually the video to that song is pretty funny.

I remember Rockilne. WRIF aired it Monday nights at 11,

Pat Travers NOT in the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame yet.
Pat Travers has lived in Orlando for years. I would occasionally see him at WHTQ, when Neil Mirsky was PD there. His music was always far more popular in places like Philly and NYC. He sang lead on "Get the Funk Out" for Extreme, which received a lot of play on SMN's Z-Rock back in the day. You can believe me, or our aging radio station phone groupie from Shelby Township. I couldn't care LESS. :)

On the good side, I certainly do agree, he deserves to be in the CMHOF, even as a U.S. citizen.
I believe the aging radio station phone groupie and I think his name is matt1 is spot on, Pat Travers may live in the USA now but is still considered a Canadian Artist, And on the subject of aging you’re just a radio has-been as well so you’re in the same boat my friend, But thanks for the walk down memory lane. It seems like you have issues with radio station phone groupies remember something Flagg if it weren’t for radio station phone groupies aging or young you would’ve not become a radio has-been, So kudos to all the radio station phone groupies on this board old and young. 👍

So today before playing Last Chance by Shooting Star, they announced that this coming Saturday will be a Deep Cut Saturday. So I am again looking forward to listening on Saturday. Last Chance is a song I remembered as soon as they played it, but honestly completely forgot about. I think that is exactly what Deep Cuts should be about.

Im sorry I missed this..........I was busy and couldnt listen today. It would have been great to hear Last Chance on WLLZ on m ore time.

I appreciate 106.7 WLLZ making the effort to let us old Wheelz listeners relive our youth and the glory days of Detroit Rock Radio.

I'd also suggest "Hang On For Your Life" and "Hollywood" from Shooting Star's second album. Some other lost artists that might be considered include Point Blank, Aldo Nova, Spys, The Tarney-Spencer Band, The Sherbs, and even Michael Bolton's "Fools Game", before he dropped rock altogether. I also remember Peter Cetera getting rock airplay with "Livin' In The Limelight".

The lost songs subject could be its' own thread, but this is in conjuction with WLLZ and what that era of rock radio used to contain.

Why don’t you just create the thread and get the credit on it, It’s an excellent idea, And if and when you do it I have a ton of songs to contribute.

The same way "Powerline" fit onto the stations it used to run on (it may still, for all I know) - it doesn't. It just runs and people stay tuned or not.

Tom Kent re-started Powerline on his network a couple of years ago.

So we don't need more Jesus music on the radio. And Powerline was garbage.

Powerline's relative worth is what it is, however most stations would run it in the off hours so that it wouldn't get caught in the regular programming stream.

I remember hearing it (on whichever Detroit station) while driving to my job at a different station. It was o.k., and I didn't mind having it on for a short time.

I wish Bob Coburn were still with us because he was about the last of the great rock interviewers .
